Jim Mallinder has ended talk of a move to the England set-up by signing a new deal with Northampton Saints.Northampton also went on to win the EDF National Trophy to complete a league and cup double.
Mallinder admits that the club is facing a tough period but says he is relishing the challenge.
"I've enjoyed my return to a club environment immensely and am settled at Franklin's Gardens. We had success last season but the hard work starts here," he said.
"It's going to be a long journey with plenty of challenges in the toughest league in the world. Nevertheless it is something that I am looking forward to along with everyone at the club."
The new deal has ended speculation that he could be lured into the national coaching set-up under new chief Martin Johnson.
