Nigel Adkins is on the look out for players to fill the boots of ex-Iron's Andy Butler, Jim Goodwin and Martin Paterson.Scunthorpe fans have been frustrated with the lack of movement in the transfer market although boss Adkins reassures supporters that the signings will be made but he won't be rushing.
"I can understand people are frustrated and that they want to see signings" he told Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"It's not just us, there's a lot of negotiating goes on at this time of year and sometimes you need a chain reaction before something else can happen.
"That's football. That's the way it is now.
"There have been some very good conversations behind the scenes.
"I intend to bring in a forward, a midfielder and a centre-back and I will do that but I've got to make sure it's the right people that we bring in.
"I expect three players to be in place before the Leeds United game. That's when it matters.
"I'm very close to bringing in a goalscorer and it's someone who no-one has mentioned in the media, which I'm pleased about."
