Scunthorpe defender David Mirfin is expected to return to the starting line-up in the FA Cup replay against Grimsby.

Centre-half Mirfin missed the home defeat to Accrington at the weekend due to a minor calf injury but should be fit to partner Niall Canavan at the heart of defence.

But the Iron will be without new loan signing Reuben Noble-Lazarus, who joined from Barnsley last week in time to make his debut off the bench on Saturday, but is ineligible having not been at the club when the original tie took place.

Defender Eddie Nolan had been hoping to return at the weekend, but is still struggling with a hamstring injury and midfielder Matt Sparrow is still out with a similar problem
