Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander has warned his team there can be no slacking as they continued their flying start to the season with a 2-0 win at Scunthorpe.

Second half goals from Jamie Proctor and Gareth Evans made it three wins out of three for the newly-promoted Lancashire club.

"We know from last season how difficult it can be coming here to Scunthorpe, and we expected a reaction from them after their 4-0 home defeat on Saturday," said Alexander.

"I was really pleased with our performance. I thought we were very professional and looked dangerous when we got forward.

"I told my team to be patient at half time and give nothing away, because I knew the goals would come for us.

"And they were two excellent goals that we scored.

"We have also kept a clean sheet in our last two games and that is always a good sign at this stage of the season.

"But we have to maintain our form - and look to improve.

"There can be no resting on our laurels and thinking we have cracked it after the start we have made."

There was little cheer though for Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox who made six changes to his side, but was still left looking for his first point of the season.

"These are tough times for us at the moment," he confessed.

"We are not used to losing after last season when we went 28 games without defeat.

"I asked for a response after losing 4-0 at home to Preston on Saturday and I think I got one.

"It was a tight game"Box to box I do no think there as much difference between the teams.

"But we have to do better in each box. That is our problem at the moment.

"We are not getting to the ball first. We are not getting the first goal. It's something we did 30 times last season and need to start doing again.

"But we have got to work hard to turn things round. We have go to come back in with a smile on our faces on Thursday and be bright and breezy on the training ground.

"It is not quite happening for us at the moment, but we have got to keep believing.

"We really need a win under our belts, there is no hiding from that."
