Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson questioned the amount of injury time after Oldham sub Matt Smith snatched a 97th minute equaliser.

Wilson felt the amount of injury time was excessive, but said he would respect referee Scott Mathieson's decision after the Blades extended United's unbeaten start to the League One season to 12 games.

Wilson said: "It's not like a defeat but I think it's very, very disappointing to concede at the time we did. I mean - 97 minutes - you'd think the game would've been over before that, but it wasn't and that's down to ourselves. We have to play to the whistle and we didn't do that.

"There's one ball been hogged into the box, it's coming down with snow on it and we've been flat-footed and we haven't dealt with it and that's why we've come away with 1-1.

"The rest of the game we've dealt with most things in the box, but unfortunately on that particular one I think we thought the game was over and sadly it wasn't, but we're still asking for a reason why it was 97 minutes we played.

"We didn't feel that it was needed to put that amount of time on, but the referee's got his reasons and we'll respect that. It's not the referee's fault we conceded a goal."
