Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson is expecting interest in highly-regarded young duo Harry Maguire and George Long.

Maguire, 19, earned his first England Under-21 cap in the win over Northern Ireland last week, while goalkeeper Long, also 19, was named League One's player of the month for October after some sterling displays following his arrival into the team.

And Wilson insists there would be interest in the pair even if they were not getting the latest recognition.

"When you have high-profile young players that do well then they are going to get noticed, that comes with the territory," he said. "We encourage it because it is great from Sheffield United's point of view.

"We give them the platform and it's great for the kudos of the club. It makes everything worthwhile.

"Your best players are always difficult to keep and people will obviously look at them. But it proves we are going in the right direction."
