Dave Jones felt Steve Howard deserved a goal in the 0-0 draw with Blackpool but was more than happy to take a point.
Neither side could find a goal at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool coming closest when Tom Ince was denied in a one-on-one by goalkeeper Chris Kirkland and Kirk Broadfoot headed a corner against the bar in the second half.
The Owls found Matt Gilks in fine form in the Blackpool goal as he denied Jermaine Johnson, who was making his 200th English league start, early on and then substitute Chris McGuire at the death.
But it was hard-working veteran frontman Howard who caught Jones' eye as his side continued their battle to beat the drop.
"The big man was superb. He's run himself into the ground on a pitch like that and he deserves all the credit," said Jones, whose side sit three points off the relegation zone.
"I asked him to do a job and he did exactly that. He won his headers, he ran his socks off and with JJ playing alongside him, we caused them problems.
"We could have had three goals in the first five minutes but the game settled down and the goalkeepers haven't had a lot to do.
"I am pleased with all of them. We will keep battling on, picking up points and we have another massive game against Ipswich on Saturday.
"We know we are not safe yet but we will be doing everything in our power to get out of trouble as soon as we possibly can."
