Brian Laws has confirmed that Sheffield Wednesday will take up the option to keep Tommy Spurr and Richard Wood for another year.

The duo's current deals are due to expire next summer and there had been suggestions that the both players had been given new deals to stay at Hillsborough.

Laws says that is not the case but has clarified that both players will be staying for at least one more season after the Owls took up the option in their contracts.

Laws himself also has to pen a new deal and reports claim it will be discussed at the next board meeting.
