Owls eye loan deal

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws is hoping to make a new loan signing before the derby clash with Sheffield United.

Laws has seen his squad ripped apart through injury and although Peter Gilbert is closing in on a return to action, he is still missing key players ahead of the weekend.

"I would like to do something before the weekend," the Owls boss revealed to BBC Radio Sheffield. "We knew we had to set aside some money for January.

"We may have to use that money now because we do need to strengthen and I'd like to do that before the game."
