Assistant boss Russ Wilcox says the management have been pleased with the fitness levels of the Owls players ahead of pre-season.
The squad officially return for pre-season training next Wednesday but have been getting regular checks to keep an eye on their fitness, having been given summer regimes.
Selected players were called in on Tuesday and Wednesday to assess how they have been getting on and the Owls stars have been keeping trim in the close season.
Wilcox told the Sheffield Star: "Everybody who came in was spot on and that's just what we were hoping for.
"When they went off, the players were given a programme by our fitness coach, Tom Little, and this is to help them during the weeks away.
"Tom structures things just right and we can see, by this initial testing, if players have done the work and, roughly, how much they've done.
"I think that shows commitment on their part. It's a long way from the old days some years ago when you'd get some players rolling back in overweight after enjoying a nice summer off."
