Owls look to loan market

Sheff WedSheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws could be forced to move into the loan market after the injury situation deepened at the club.

Defender Tommy Spurr has become the latest player to join the growing injury list at Hillsborough after he damaged ankle ligaments in the 4-0 defeat at Plymouth on Saturday.

The full extent of the damage is not yet known but the player is looking at least a month on the sidelines and Laws could have to go to the board begging for more cash.

Richard Wood (groin), Peter Gilbert (hamstring), Richard Hinds (broken ankle) and Frank Simek (ankle ligaments) are all out and Laws is lacking bodies.
