Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje says he will be fully fit for the start of the season and is keen to make up for lost time.

Sodje had a nightmare on the injury front last season after struggling with ankle, knee and hamstring problems but now appears to be over his injuries and cannot wait for the season to start.

He told the club's official website: "I'm fully fit and ready to go for pre-season. I'm really looking forward to the new season because I'm confident my fitness is much better now.

"I've been to see one of the best doctors for hamstring problems and he's given me a few injections and found the problem. I had a couple of games when I was away and I haven't had any problems since so I'm ready to go for pre-season."
