Marcus Tudgay's agent has indicated the Owls star is poised to hand in a transfer request to secure a move to Burnley.

The Clarets recently failed with a £2million bid for the former Derby man but are still keen on Tudgay, who is desperately keen to try his luck in the Premier League.

The Owls have offered Tudgay a new contract but the 26-year-old has decided not to sign and now appears to be holding out for a summer switch to Turf Moor.

Tudgay's agent Darryl Powell said: "I plan to sit down with Marcus next week and we will decide what is best for him to do.

"Obviously, handing in a transfer request is an option and we will talk through all our options."
