Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Southampton striker David McGoldrick for an undisclosed seven-figure fee.

Forest boss Billy Davies has been tracking the player all summer and the Scot has now finally landed his man after Saints agreed to cash in on the striker.

The 21-year-old, who bagged 12 goals for Saints last season as they were relegated, has penned a four-year deal and becomes Davies' second signing of the summer.

Saints head coach Mark Wotte admits he was powerless to keep him and confirmed: "David has family connections in Nottingham and was desperate to play in the Championship. We wish him well."
