Morgan Schneiderlin has talked up Southampton's chances of springing an upset against champions Manchester City this weekend.
The midfielder was part of the side that narrowly lost 3-2 to City at the Etihad Stadium on the opening day of the season, with only a late rally from Roberto Mancini's men denying the Saints a famous victory.
However, the performance the South Coast outfit put in that day is still fresh in Schneiderlin's memory and the chance to avenge what he sees as a slight injustice will give them added motivation for the return game at St. Mary's.
The Frenchman said: "When we speak about Manchester City, yes of course we played very well (at the Etihad).
"It was our first game in the Premier League. For myself it was my first game in the Premier League as well.
"It was a good performance, but we lost the game. It was a pain.
"But I'm sure we can show Manchester City how far we have come and we can cause them many problems.
"They are the favourites, but we showed since the start of the season that we can cause problems to anyone and we will cause some problems to Manchester City."
The pressure will certainly be on the visitors on Saturday as they head into the clash with Saints trailing rivals Manchester United by nine points in the race for the Premier League title.
Mauricio Pochettino's side clearly need to win for their own relegation as they bid to beat the drop, although a draw would also be a good result as they currently have a three-point cushion on Wigan who occupy the third relegation place.
