Internacional's director of football Luis Cesar Souto de Moura has denied that Southampton have put in a bid for Leandro Damiao.
The Saints are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a swoop for the 23-year-old Brazil international, who is valued at around £17million by Internacional having helped fire them to the domestic title in his homeland for the past three years.
Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Leandro, who did not feature in Brazil's Confederations Cup win but scored six goals in five outings last summer as they finished second in the 2010 London Olympics.
However, De Moura has played down reports that there have been bids for Leandro, and said: "Nothing has come, clubs from everywhere sound him out all the time, but we don't even consider that anymore, as there are too many enquiries but offers never come.
"I am working with the idea of keeping the player, so that he doesn't leave."
