It's a squad game for Adkins

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins will continue to utilise his squad as the promotion run-in hots up.

Saints' clash with Barnsley will be their third outing of seven in March and Adkins wants contributions from all over the pitch to ensure they stay on top of the pile.

"It's about the whole squad of players working very hard for each other and that is what we've got," said Adkins.

"The games are going to come thick and fast, as they will for every team in the division, and I believe we have a strong enough squad to deal with that.

"That means we are able to rotate players around a little bit because of the intensity you have to play at.

"We have players who can score goals and change things around for us, we know that."
