Southampton boss Jan Poortvliet has hailed the capture of Romain Gasmi and believes he will be a big hit for the club.
The player has arrived on a season-long loan deal from French side RC Strasbourg and Poortvliet believes the 21-year-old will be a good signing once he has recovered from a broken foot.
"We have heard a lot about him from France. He is a quality player and he can play in several positions, on the wing or in the hole," Poortvliet revealed.
"He's a good dribbler and can score goals. When I met him last week he was very positive and all he wants to do now is train with us. He's very happy about the move and we are looking forward to working with him."
