Saints striker Rickie Lambert says he'll fight for a place at next summer's World Cup, but a lot needs to happen to fulfill his dream.
The 31-year-old has retained his place in the England squad for the last two World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland, despite the return to fitness of Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge.
But, despite suggestions that Lambert made himself indispensable by scoring on his debut against Scotland back in August, the Saints frontman knows he needs to keep producing for club and country.
He would certainly relish the chance to play in Brazil next year.
He told The Daily Mirror: "There's a lot of things that have got to happen between now and then.
"I'll just keep working hard. I've never taken anything for granted. And if that chance does come then, yes, I will take it."
