Richard Chaplow is set to depart Southampton as Championship side Millwall have lined up a deal to sign him.
The 28-year-old midfielder was one of six players named in the list that Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino was looking to clear out to make space on the wage bill for his summer acquisitions.
And new Lions boss Steve Lomas has wasted no time in swooping to take the player back to the New Den after he agreed to pen a two-year deal subject to a successful medical.
Chaplow spent a small chunk of last season on loan with Millwall under their former boss Kenny Jackett, but Lomas has moved to beat off the likes of Birmingham to get him back to south London where he will fill in for injured midfielder Liam Trotter, who will miss the start of the new season because of injury.
