Midfielder Dean Hammond is set to captain Southampton for the first time on Saturday for the visit of Norwich to St Mary's.

Hammond is expected to take over the captain's armband from goalkeeper Kelvin Davis for the clash with boss Alan Pardew keen to have an outfield player leading the team.

Veteran defender Graeme Murty could figure after making his comeback at the start of the week after nearly three months out with a knee ligament injury while Pardew expects to have a fully-fit squad to choose from with Lee Molyneux available after a back problem.
