Southampton are set to be snubbed by their three top summer transfer targets - Radja Nainggolan, Victor Wanyama and Pablo Osvaldo.
Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino looked to be making good progress in his efforts to bolster the squad in this transfer window, with reports that he had made moves to snap up Cagliari midfielder Nainggolan, Celtic midfielder Wanyama and Roma striker Osvaldo.
However, it now appears that the three men are not keen on joining the St Mary's outfit and Pochettino will have to go back to the drawing board to find new targets.
Nainggolan revealed that he will be looking to move on, but it seems he has his heart set on a move to a bigger European club.
He said: "My priority is looking for a brighter future for my career and Southampton is my last choice.
"Southampton gave me the biggest offer at the moment among the other clubs but I don't play football for money."
It is also being reported that 21-year-old Kenyan star Wanyama has also declined the opportunity to talk to the Saints despite Celtic accepting a big-money offer of around £10million for his signature.
Argentinian hitman Osvaldo, who worked with Pochettino during his time in charge of Espanyol, has snubbed the chance to be reunited with his fellow compatriot and former boss because the 27-year-old wants to stay in Serie A or move to Spain.
