Southampton and Norwich are tracking 18-goal Walsall striker Will Grigg who could be available on a free transfer this summer.
The Northern Ireland international is being looked at closely by both Premier League clubs after going on a scoring run that has yielded nine League One goals in his last seven appearances.
Southampton and Norwich scouts watched the 21-year-old striker last Saturday when he bagged the last-minute equaliser that earned the Saddlers a point against Crawley.
Grigg has been offered a two-year deal by Walsall but the talks have stalled.
Walsall boss Dean Smith said: "Will wants to see his future resolved. We want him to continue his education here."
Norwich are desperate to add to their firepower after notching less than a goal a game this season, giving them the third worst scoring record in the Premier League.
Southampton are also in the market for a young forward to add competition for places up front and may watch Grigg, and Saints midfielder Steven Davis, play for Northern Ireland against Russia in Belfast on Friday.
