Danny Fox and Gaston Ramirez will both miss Southampton's trip to Sunderland on Sunday because of suspension.
The duo were both sent off in the 3-0 drubbing against West Brom at St Mary's almost a fortnight ago and will serve the second of their respective three-match bans for the game at the Stadium of Light.
Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino is waiting to see if Guly do Prado can shake off a knock which forced him off during last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Tottenham, but Morgan Schneiderlin should come back into contention after recovering from a dead leg which resulted in him missing out at White Hart Lane.
Maya Yoshida was left on the bench for that game but is set to be considered for a recall against the Black Cats.
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio is hoping his side can defeat the Saints to secure their Premier League status for another season, but he is expecting a tough afternoon.
He said: "They have won only three away games, but they are capable of winning against any side away.
"They have quality and intelligent attacking footballers.
"They will be a very difficult side to face and we have to be careful because we don't have a fantastic record at home this season.
"It's a big challenge. They always try to play attacking football and they can change their system."
