Saints sign midfielder

SotonSouthampton have completed the signing of Stoke midfielder Anthony Pulis who has penned a two-year deal at St Mary's.

Pulis, who is the son of Stoke boss Tony, has struggled for first-team action at the Britannia Stadium and the Potters decided to let him go on a free transfer.

Saints have wasted no time in wrapping up a deal and Stoke assistant Dave Kemp believes it is a good move for the player.

He told the club's official website: "He's a great lad, he's been very popular here but obviously it's difficult when your father is the manager.

"It is a great opportunity for him to push on with his own career and everyone at the club wishes him all the best as he embarks on an exciting new challenge with Southampton."
