Southampton have moved to tie down young academy duo Will Britt and Omar Rowe to contract extensions on professional terms.
The 18-year-old duo, who broke into the Under-21 squad at St Mary's last season, are the latest highly-rated youngsters to pledge their futures to the club in the longer term this summer following on from Dominic Gape and Ryan Seager.
And they will both be looking to follow the likes of James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw, who have successfully worked their way into the first team from the Saints' academy ranks.
Winger Rowe told the club's website: "This is basically the first part done. I've wanted to get this stage for a long time. I've been aiming towards it, and I'm glad that's it's now come.
"I just want to learn every day and get the best out of what I can do and do the best that I can to achieve what I want because this is what I want.
"This is just the first step, but I want to be in the first team when the time is right. All I've got to do is keep working so that the time will come."
Goalkeeper Britt added: "My main priority is to become the best goalkeeper I can possibly be and to get a professional contract at the club means I feel I've succeeded a part of that.
"We've got a strong age group and one of the strongest in the country I'd say. Most of the lads see James and Luke are playing for the first team and England and we want to follow them."
