Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that the injury which forced Dani Osvaldo out of Southampton's win against Fulham is not serious.

The Saints' chief revealed that the club record signing picked up a slight injury during training late last week and was subsequently not risked on Saturday evening as the Saints secured a comfortable 2-0 win against the Cottagers.

However, despite Osvaldo waiting for news on the injury, Pochettino does not expect the Italian to be out of action for long.

He said in the Daily Echo: "There is no diagnosis yet. He (Osvaldo) is going to be looked at in the next few days but he has a slight problem, it's not major."

Steven Davis also missed the Fulham game with a knee injury, but Pochettino is hopeful that he could be back in contention for the Saints' game against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
