"I definitely missed playing after I picked up the injury against Darlington," he told the Paisley Daily Express. "I didn't realise how much I'd missed it until I stepped back on to the pitch against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
"It was great to play some part in Saturday's game because my injury was a nightmare, to be honest. That's the thing with back injuries; they are totally different from ankle knocks or leg injuries.
"With other injuries, you can do some work in the gym, whether it's with the weights or running on the treadmill, but with a back injury, you can't do anything and that's very frustrating."
