Recent signing Lee Mair says he is targeting regular first-team football at St Mirren but admits he will face stiff competition.
The 28-year-old has joined the Buddies after a frustrating spell at Aberdeen and is looking to kick-start his career and establish himself as a regular in Gus MacPherson's starting line-up.
The centre-back is aware that he faces competition for the likes of John Potter and Will Haining, but is determined to prove his worth to St Mirren.
Mair told the Paisley Express: "I see this move as a chance to play regular football. At Aberdeen, I was in and out of the team and that was frustrating because all I want to do is play and, hopefully, moving to St Mirren will give me a better chance of that.
"At the end of the day, if you play well, then you'll get to keep the jersey and that's what I intend doing."
