Ryan Shawcross says one more victory should guarantee Stoke's Premier League status and has set his sights on beating Aston Villa.
The Potters captain believes this Saturday's game with the Villans could be a season-defining one as they look to end a run of five matches without victory.
Defeat to Everton on Saturday saw Tony Pulis' men slip closer to the relegation zone, with just four points now separating the Potters in 13th from the bottom three.
The 25-year-old is keen for Stoke to secure their top-flight status as soon as possible in order to avoid a nervy end to the season and has called on the fans to get behind the team at the Britannia Stadium this Saturday.
"It's pretty well known how good the Stoke fans are when they are roaring and behind us," Shawcross told the Staffordshire Sentinel. "It is a season-defining game now on Saturday. It's massive and hopefully we can push on after that.
"I think it would probably take 37 points (to stay up), so we need to get to that then hopefully push on.
"Maybe it will be a bit less or more, but we want to get to 40 and then push on from that. It is going to be difficult but they are all winnable games."
