Potters keeper Thomas Sorensen has agreed a new, one-year contract extension which should keep him at the club until 2012.

Sorensen becomes the latest City player to commit himself to Tony Pulis' side following the deals penned by defenders Ryan Shawcross and Danny Higginbotham and the former Aston Villa man is delighted his future has been sorted.

The 33-year-old admitted his career was at a crossroads when he joined on a free transfer at the start of last season and he paid tribute to Stoke for taking a chance on him.

He said: "The [club's] faith then was very important. It was a crossroads for me and Stoke gave me a great chance.

"When you are given a chance like that, you have to pay something back. I would like to think I have been doing that and hopefully that can continue."

Sorensen is on international duty for Denmark against South Korea tomorrow before he will then line up against the United States on Wednesday.
