Striker Peter Odemwingie could make his Stoke debut in Wednesday's Premier League clash with Sunderland.

The Potters announced on Tuesday that they had completed the signing of Odemwingie from Cardiff, with Kenwyne Jones moving in the opposite direction as part of a player-exchange deal.

Captain Ryan Shawcross is expected to play with protection on a wrist he has fractured and fellow defender Erik Pieters should be fit despite having to come off in Sunday's FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

Robert Huth (knee), Andy Wilkinson (heel) and Matthew Etherington (calf) are set to remain sidelined.
