Sheffield Wednesday are in the hunt to sign Stoke keeper Jack Butland on loan but they will have to guarantee him first-team football.
Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen to send Butland out on loan as he is currently behind Asmir Begovic and Thomas Sorensen in the pecking order and there will be no shortage of interest from the Championship.
The emergency loan window is now open to clubs outside of the Premier League and Wednesday are already being heavily linked with a move for the England international.
Owls boss Dave Jones says he wants a quality goalkeeper to push Chris Kirkland for the number one jersey and that could be the sticking point as Stoke will want him playing every week.
Other clubs will no doubt be interested and Stoke are likely to hold fire until they can find a move that is perfect for the youngster's development.
