Stoke boss Mark Hughes was in Holland on Sunday to check on the progress of loan striker Juan Agudelo with Utrecht.

The Potters boss was in the stands at Utrecht's Stadion Galgenwaard as Agudelo came off the bench in the first half and scored the winning goal for the Dutch club.

Agudelo was sent to Utrecht on loan in the January transfer window after Stoke failed in their appeal to secure the US international a work permit to play in the UK.

The striker, who has 17 caps, signed from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution on a free transfer but the original application for the permit was blocked in November.

Stoke were told they could not reapply for the permit until March and it is thought that Hughes wants the 21-year-old to be part of his squad next season.
