Stoke have entered the running to sign Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland as doubts surround the future of Asmir Begovic.
Begovic is on the wanted list of both Manchester City and Manchester United and Potters boss Tony Pulis is resigned to losing the goalkeeper in the summer.
With that in mind Pulis is ready to move for Butland and reports claim an enquiry has been made ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.
Chelsea have made a bid of £3.5million but the 19-year-old would have more chance of first-team football at the Britannia Stadium and that will be a huge factor.
"Jack's enjoying playing for Birmingham and he is gaining valuable experience," his agent Gary Mellor revealed. "He will listen to what any club that meets Birmingham's asking price has to say, but playing is of paramount importance for Jack."
It looks like being a hectic deadline day for Stoke as Galatasary striker Johan Elmander is being linked with a move, while the futures of Peter Crouch and Kenwyne Jones will need resolving.
