Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is considering a move for Rennes striker Mevlut Erdinc as he aims to try and add more goals to his squad.
Hughes travelled to Istanbul on Wednesday evening to cast an eye over the 26-year-old who featured late on in Turkey's 2-2 draw with Ghana.
Turkish newspaper Skorer reported that the Ligue 1 man is a high priority target for the Premier League side, although he has also been linked with Newcastle.
The former QPR and Manchester City manager has made no secret of his desire to add firepower to the Potters squad after they only managed to score 34 times last term - the second lowest behind QPR.
Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf was understood to be a top target for Stoke, but his £17million price tag brought an abrupt end to any interest.
QPR forward Junior Hoilett has also been strongly linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium as the 49-year-old Hughes ponders signing the Canadian for the third time - having previously done so at Blackburn and QPR.
