Stoke City are among the clubs who are showing an interest in Oldham's highly-rated striker Matt Smith.

The 6ft 6in frontman has impressed for Latics this season when firing home eight goals in 14 starts but it was his performances in the FA Cup that really caught the eye.

Smith bagged four goals against Premier League clubs in the competition as Liverpool were put to the sword before Everton were taken to a replay at Goodison Park.

Potters boss Tony Pulis believes he could be the next Peter Crouch and is keeping tabs on his situation, while Celtic and Birmingham City have also been linked.

Oldham are battling to stay in League One and would have to cash in if a big enough offer was made for the player, who is also being targeted by Scotland.
