Potters in running for Granada hitman

Stoke City are said to be the current front-runners to sign Granada striker Youssef El Arabi, who has impressed in Spain this season.

The 26-year-old has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs for the past 12 months and his reputation has been enhanced this season with some outstanding displays for Granada.

The Moroccan scored a hat-trick against Malaga last week and scouts from across Europe are now sitting up and taking notice of the frontman.

The Potters have held a long-standing interest in El Arabi and will hope that counts for something if a battle for his signature ensues, either in the January or summer transfer windows.

West Ham United are also believed to be monitoring his situation as they are in desperate need of new strikers, with Andy Carroll still struggling to overcome a foot problem.

El Arabi has hit 14 league goals for Granada in total since he joined in 2012, while he also has seven goals in 22 senior games for Morocco.
