Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to battle it out with a host of clubs for the signature of Saint-Etienne left-back Faouzi Ghoulam.
Left-back is an area that has caused Pulis problems all season following a serious injury picked up by Marc Wilson and Ghoulam is a player he is keen to get on board.
Pulis has been told he needs to sell before he can buy but after cutting Danny Higginbotham from the wage bill, he hopes to have enough cash to do a deal.
Ghoulam is just 21 but is already regarded as one of the best defenders in France and Fulham, along with West Ham and Italian side Udinese, are also reported to be keen.
The youngster is valued at £2.2million and that should not be a problem even for Stoke's limited transfer budget.
