Stoke are lining up a £3m swoop for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips, who could be on the move if the Seasiders fail to win promotion.

Phillips has been a revelation for the Seasiders this season when firing home 16 goals and Stoke have joined the growing list of clubs who are showing an interest in the 20-year-old.

Bolton failed with a bid to land Phillips in the January window but the Seasiders know unless they can win promotion back to the Premier League they will struggle to keep hold in the close season.

Tony Pulis is looking to sign another winger after both Matthew Etherington and Jermaine Pennant suffered a dip in form this season and Phillips is on his list of targets.

The Potters will face strong competition for the Scotland international's services though as apart from Bolton, Liverpool and Newcastle are also in the hunt.
