Stoke are reported to be weighing up another bid for Sporting Lisbon's Diego Capel after failing with their initial bid.

Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen on the former Sevilla star, and Sporting are happy to sell if a club comes in and matches their valuation.

Stoke's opening bid was £3million but reports in Portugal now say they will make an improved bid closer to £5million in the hope it will be enough to strike a deal.

Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked.
