Cameron Jerome claims Aston Villa are under pressure to defeat Stoke in Saturday's massive game at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters' 26-year-old hitman has spoken out ahead of the match that is now being billed as a relegation six-pointer given that Tony Pulis' side are 13th but only four points clear of the third-bottom Villans.
Stoke are looking to improve on a record of just five points from 11 games which would move them seven points clear of the drop zone, but Jerome feels the onus is on Paul Lambert's side to win as their need is much greater.
The former Birmingham man, who has scored four goals so far this term, told the Stoke website: "They are right in the relegation mix, and whilst we know that we aren't clear of that threat either just yet, it is a game that Villa know that they really have to win.
"It's not do or die for us though, not at all, but we do understand the need of getting a win under our belts to give us a bit more breathing space, and in many ways take some of the pressure off."
