Rivals in for Stoke target

West Brom have joined the race to sign Stoke City target Emmanuel Riviere from Monaco.

Potters boss Mark Hughes came close to signing the striker in January but, following a serious injury to Radamel Falcao, Monaco blocked his departure.

Hughes is interested again but he could lose out to West Brom, who are looking to make the striker their big-money marquee signing of the summer.

The former France Under-21 international only joined the big-spending French Ligue 1 outfit from Toulouse last summer and scored 14 goals during the course of last term.

Riviere still has three years remaining on his current deal and would cost in the region of £6million.
