Stoke City manager Tony Pulis may make a move for Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss in January.

The Slovakian international may only be available on loan, but has built a promising reputation at the Manchester club.

His opportunities at Eastlands have been very few and far between this season, although he did make an appearance and scored in City's 3-0 Carling Cup win over Arsenal this month.

The 20-year-old is eager to move in order to establish first-team football ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

His father, also named Vladimir Weiss, is the head coach of the Slovakian national team and may pick his son should he have a successful second-half of the season.

However, the Potters may also face competition from Burnley who are also keeping a close eye on Weiss.
