Stoke are reported to be keeping tabs on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Atiba Hutchinson with a view to a January swoop.
The Canadian international is impressing as PSV push for the Eredivisie title this season and Stoke, along with Fulham and Everton, are said to be tracking him.
All three clubs had scouts present during the recent clash with FC Twente and a move to England looks to be on the cards after the player admitted he wants to play in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old also has experience of playing in Sweden and Denmark with Helsingborgs IF and FC Copenhagen respectively and England could be his next step.
"It's always been my ambition and dream to play in the Premier League," he revealed when quizzed about his future. "After two and a half years at PSV I am ready for a new step.
"Hopefully I can leave with a championship in Eindhoven."
