Stoke target Aaron Hunt could be up for grabs in January as talks over a new deal with Werder Bremen have yet to begin.
The 27-year-old midfielder was high on Mark Hughes' wanted list during the summer but a deal failed to happen and the player ended up staying at the Weserstadion.
However, he is due to fall out of contract at the end of the season and while there is no sign of a new one being sorted speculation is again starting to mount over his future.
Stoke are still in the hunt and will no doubt be encouraged to hear the player's latest thoughts on his future.
"I am fine and I have a contract to end next summer," he told the Weser-Kurier. "Thus far I have not scheduled any contract negotiations with Werder Bremen for the near future.
"I will at first wait until the January transfer window is approaching."
