Striker will come good, says boss

StokeTony Pulis has backed record signing Dave Kitson to rediscover his form in front of the posts and claim his first goal for Stoke.

Kitson joined the Potters for a club record £5.5 million from Reading during the summer but has failed to find the back of the net in his first six games in a Stoke shirt.

Some reports on Tuesday suggest that the striker is becoming unsettled at the Britannia Stadium but Pulis revealed that he is happy with Kitson and believes that his current poor run will only strengthen his resolve to break his goalscoring duck against Tottenham on October 19.

The Stoke boss said: "Obviously we are keen to him for score, but it's not the be all and end all with Dave Kitson.

"He has put a shift in for us in other areas of his game, linking the play and playing his part in our goal at Portsmouth. His time will come."
