Andy Wilkinson is set to play for Stoke against Wigan on Tuesday despite needing stitches in a head injury against Blackburn.

Wilkinson picked up the knock in the 3-0 win over Rovers on Saturday but, despite needing stitches, is expected to be fit to take his place in Tony Pulis' side for the clash with Wigan this week.

The Potters boss revealed after the weekend win he was considering making several changes for the trip to the DW Stadium with Abdoulaye Faye hoping to have recovered from his back problem to play, while Glenn Whelan and Salif Diao are also in contention and Tuncay could start up front.
