Matthew Etherington says he still has plenty to offer Stoke and is hoping to force his way back into the side on a regular basis.

The winger has endured a difficult start to the season and made only his second start of the campaign during the 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Etherington has struggled with injury while the arrival of Michael Kightly from Wolves has made things harder and the player has had to mainly settle for a place on the bench.

However, after returning to the side at the weekend, he is now hoping to keep his place for Monday night's clash with West Ham.

"I still feel I still have a good couple of years in me in the Premier League," he revealed. "Hopefully those years will be at Stoke. I feel I can still do well at Stoke and put in good performances in the Premier League.

"I just want to get back in the side on a regular basis and get back to performing at the levels I know I am capable of.

"It has been frustrating not being in the side. I am not going to lie about that. I just have to do enough to show I am worthy of staying in the side. It is hard sitting on the bench. That is the manager's decision and I respect that."
