Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill will give a late fitness test to Phil Bardsley to see if he can play at Blackburn.

The Black Cats travel down to Ewood Park to face Rovers, who are fighting for their lives in the Premier League, but Bardsley is a doubt after picking up a calf injury against Everton in the FA Cup last weekend.

O'Neill is already without Kieran Richardson who has a calf problem and will not play, the hope is he may be fit enough to play at the weekend against QPR.

Striker Stephane Sessegnon and Lee Cattermole are both out suspended, Sessegnon will be back against QPR and Cattermole will be available for the cup replay with Everton next week.

Defenders Wes Brown (knee) and Titus Bramble (Achilles/calf) all remain on the sidelines.
